The Emergence of Shared Interpretations in Organizations A Self-organizing Systems Perspective

چکیده
The past decade has seen the emergence of an enduring interest in the study of organizational communication from an interpretive perspective. In a comprehensive critique, Putnam (1983) notes that past functionalist research treated “social phenomena as concrete, materialistic, entities-types of social facts” (p. 34) and “organizational charts as fixed, concrete structures that determine authority and task relationships” (p. 35). Dynamic, Dyadic, Inter subjective Systems: An Evolving Paradigm for Psychoanalysis
Dynamic systems theory is a source of powerful new metaphors for psychoanalysis. Phenomena such as conflict, transference, resistance, and the unconscious itself are grasped from this perspective as dynamically emergent properties of self-organizing, nonlinear, dyadic, intersubjective systems. The conception of development as evolving and dissolving attractor states of intersubjective systems r...

The introduction of groupware into organizations impacts the existing patterns of cooperation. Applying the theory of self-organizing social systems, we try to gain insights into these introduction processes. We look at Maturana’s theory of autopoietic systems and show how Luhmann has drawn on it for the analysis of social systems. In the following, we present case studies of evolving cooperati...

With others, we suggest that these mental entities emerge, develop, an...
